INFORMATION FOR DRIVERS NOT RESIDENT IN THE U.A.E
For drivers contemplating bringing their cars to the UAE over
the Winter period, the following information may be useful:-
You
There are numerous regular flights to most major cities in the
World. Emirates Airline fly to Dubai and Etihad fly to Abu Dhabi.
Both cities are well served by other International airlines. The
choice of destination for passengers is best assessed on cost as
the airports are within an hours drive of each other.
The Car
Shipping a car by airfreight is relatively straightforward. We
use the service of Benco freight at Heathrow mick@bencofreight.com .
They have vast experience of shipping Radicals and provide an
excellent service.
For people not using Benco, we suggest you contact AUH carl@auhmotorsports.com
for details of recommended shipping instructions.
The cost from London works out at about £2,500 each way. There
is a temporary import regime which requires a payment of 5% of the
declared value of the car. This is recovered from customs when the
car is re-exported within a six month window.
Storage in the UAE
AUH can provide storage services at very reasonable rates in
secure premises.
Preparation and race support
AUH can offer teams full preparation services in advance of race
meetings. Repair works can also be undertaken.
There are a number of teams in the UAE that can provide race
support and AUH can provide contact details upon request.
