About Abu Dhabi

The United Arab Emirates comprises of 7 Emirates, of which Abu
Dhabi is the capital. Abu Dhabi is one of the most prosperous and
rapidly developing cities in the world, with an impressive
population of 1.45 million (2008). In just over half a century it
has become a major centre for tourism, as well as transforming from
a small Bedouin village into a thriving investment enterprise.
Abu Dhabi has long had a motor racing history, both off road and
on track. However with the opening of Yas Marina circuit and its
inaugural event the FIA Formula 1 (Nov 1 - 3 1009) Abu Dhabi has
placed itself at the very forefront of the international motor
racing world.
While most of the UAE is a desert landscape, during the winter
months (October - April) days can be as cool as 18 degrees and
evenings sometimes as low as 10 degrees centigrade.

The UAE currency is the dirham, and is pegged to the US
dollar. It converts approximately to 6:1 GBP and 5:1 Euro (subject
to change).
The official national language of Abu Dhabi is Arabic, although
English is commonplace and Hindi and Urdu are also widely spoken in
and around the city
Tourist Visas upon entry are usually relatively easy to obtain,
